Our story
Syarikat Ismail Yahya began as a neighborhood sundry shop in Batu Pahat, Johor, back in 1940. Over time, it grew into a well-known retail store that caters to the needs of its community, continually evolving to meet customer demands. In 1986, the company changed its name to S.I.Y. Sdn Bhd, which later expanded into distribution line along with retail. SIY started by supplying dried foods and condiments for many years, and slowly expanded its portfolio to include personal care such as skincare, soap, hair care and baby products—marking an exciting shift from our traditional food-focused business.
The distribution line is now known as SIY Distribution Sdn Bhd and we source many of our products from India, with plans to explore offerings from other countries as we grow. Our retail division in Batu Pahat, which is now known as SIY (BP), is also working on developing in-house brands to provide unique and tailored solutions for our customers, further solidifying our commitment to quality and innovation.
